What is Non‑Affiliated Competitive Hip Hop Dance?
Non‑affiliated competitive dance is a group of dancers who train together and enter official dance competitions and showcases under their own team name — not as part of a school team. IFLip'n Fly Dance can give your dancer the chance to compete independently as part of our new Flip’n Fly team, representing our own crew in regional and national hip hop events and competitions.
How do it all work?
In hip hop competition, dancers and crews perform choreographed routines centered on energy, precision, rhythm, style, and creativity — everything that makes hip hop culture exciting! Competition teams typically take what they learn in classes and drill it into dynamic, crowd‑pleasing performances that are judged on technique, showmanship, timing, and team unity.
New to Hip Hop? No Problem!
Our Dance teams are open to all ages and skill levels—no experience required! We’re considering forming teams for dancers across these age groups:
Mini Movers (3-5)
Lil' Crew (6-8)
Junior Crew (8-12)
Teen Crew (13+)
Our focus is on inclusive, age‑appropriate training so every dancer — from early beginners to experienced competitors — has a place to learn skills, build confidence, and express themselves through hip hop choreography.
